The Office of Diversity, Equity,Ìýand Inclusion’sÌý(ODEI) is excited to announce the launch of its FellowsÌýProgram for the 2020-2021 Academic Year.Ìý This program willÌýadvance the work ofÌýdiversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by creating a capacity-building resourceÌýwithin and alongside academicÌý& non-academicÌýdepartments at the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½.ÌýÌý

The ODEI FellowsÌýare meant to help DU’s academic and non-academic divisionsÌýadvanceÌýdiversity, equity,Ìýand inclusionÌýeffortsÌýwith support (both in terms of funding and training)Ìýand coordinationÌýfrom the University at large.ÌýAs aÌýunit-basedÌýrole, ODEI FellowsÌýwill work within the divisionÌýtoward realizing DU’s vision outlined within theÌý2020-2021 DEI Action ItemsÌýand its goalsÌýto beginÌýcreatingÌýa coordinated, consistent, and connected leadership and accountability structure for diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the university.Ìý

Over the course of theÌýfellowship, ODEIÌýFellows willÌýwork towardsÌýembedding and expanding DU’s vision ofÌýDEIÌýwithin the framework of the university. Specifically, the program will help toÌýincubate and build division-level DEI leadershipÌýto:ÌýÌý

• Support minoritized faculty or staff
• Infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion development into the core work of colleaguesÌýÌý
• Work with leaders in the division to create and monitor unit-level DEI strategic planning and implementationÌýÌý
• Identify and implement best practices for search processes and subsequent retention
• Communicate DEI advocacy efforts within their unit and beyondÌý

There are 10 openings for ODEI Fellows. University leadership in each division has been asked to nominate individuals forÌýthis program. Fellows will be named no later than November 1,Ìý2020, and will serve through June 30, 2021.
